art6: a conduit for art experiences, expression and education

Janine Turner

Janine Turner is a photographer, abstractionist, and digital manipulator. Following 25 years as a psychotherapist, she sold her private practice and devoted herself to the exploration of creativity and expression in the visual and performing arts. As a professional artist, Janine's work is frequently displayed in the Richmond community in both individual and group exhibitions.

She is an active member of the art6 community and coordinates several prominent programs at the gallery. These includes a gallery devoted only to art6 members and "Bend an Ear Artist Salon", which brings artists of all types together to share and discuss their work. This event occurs the third Sunday of each month and is free and open to the public. She also participates in the community service program "Vacant Spaces, Artful Places", which is aimed at revitalizing the downtown Richmond area through art.

Janine teaches advanced classes in digital manipulation titled "Photoshop, Abstraction, and Creativity" at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond and the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. She is pleased to be a contributing member of the arts in the Richmond community.
